Why would I touch you now
after all these years
your beauty spent with your laughter
having taken life so serious
smelling of soaps and
deodorants
trying to hide your natural odor
you were someone's daughter
once
since divorced
cheating on love with a promising evil
how I hated you for lying about your power
even as you cower
control taken from you
ashamed of your nakedness
when nobody really cares
holding on to nothing
the illusions grasped for
to warm your ego
go
into that place
where you make yourself an alter
for that man's sacrifice
