Into my daytime

Beneath shadows I have carved a place for the sun to escape
where I have laughed in the dead grass making faces at angry clouds
my face naked with happiness
unafraid of the dark mountains of air rumbling along the tree-line

I have waited, standing, a golden fountain of sparkling water leaking
alone in the middle of the field
the world around me so humongous, you couldn't possibly sneak up on me
and when I am done, a crow calls

wearing the coming storm as a cape billowing behind you
you approach
calmly walking into my daytime
