Into my daytime

Beneath shadows I have carved a place for the sun to escape
where I have laughed in the dead grass making faces at angry clouds
my face naked with happiness
unafraid of the dark mountains of air rumbling along the tree-line

I have waited, standing, a golden fountain of sparkling water leaking
alone in the middle of the field
the world around me so humongous, you couldn't possibly sneak up on me
and when I am done, a crow calls

wearing the coming storm as a cape billowing behind you
you approach
calmly walking into my daytime

Eurydice

bait me, please

I have heard whispered
from your bottomless soul
a remorse... an unwanting
a sacrifice I have held in your hair
eyes saturated with the ache of love

while I watched you go away

death was tender with you
by making me suffer so
forbidden to follow you

death be damned
I will find you

Rape

Why would I touch you now
after all these years
your beauty spent with your laughter
having taken life so serious
smelling of soaps and
deodorants
trying to hide your natural odor

you were someone's daughter
once
since divorced
cheating on love with a promising evil

how I hated you for lying about your power
even as you cower
control taken from you
ashamed of your nakedness
when nobody really cares
holding on to nothing

the illusions grasped for
to warm your ego
go
into that place
where you make yourself an alter
for that man's sacrifice

Woman

...
i looked
heaven within her, scentless
celestially cold, drawn of whisper's hint of warmth
against the dream of my closed eyes
still
i couldn't tell
her to do anything against her will
and waited to understand she was breathing
before i breathed

her gravity pulled me close enough
to stay in or
bit my lip thinking
her lips dry, soft and sealed

screened
i tasted my own hesitancy
wished she would close her eyes
give in peacefully
fall into the arc of my arm

but she marked me
guilty
of an undeserved ambition
under a guillotine of conscience
where nudity became art
by my impotence

Bliss

bury me within you
i have starved for no one else
alive I have pressed myself between so much of you
kissing the promise of your death with no afterthought
gorging myself on your smoothed edges
weighing myself deeper with you
til there is nothing left but an empty thought
of bliss

Tortured by your emptiness

in your misery you are beautiful, achingly so
an apparition of a dream I have lost
there is nothing to reach for, there is nothing more between us
your face is an ocean away
i dare not touch you, and kiss you desperately, tenderly
your stony tears leaving my lips cold
i have killed your heart for me
and so i have killed myself
tortured by your emptiness
